GGO-Erasmus
Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 31 mai 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Since our school has a high demand of further training in teaching foreign languages, we are applying for Erasmus+ funding. Our project is supposed to qualify our teachers to meet the demands of a rapidly-changing teaching environment. New English words that have been created as a result to changes in our society have to be learned, taught and understood by our teachers and new methods of Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) have to be aquired in order to do so. By taking part in immersion courses for teachers in Scotland that focus on those skills, our teachers will be qualified to train all TEFL-teachers of our school. In due time, our students should benefit from this project. The partcipating members are highly qualified in many ways: Mr Schmid has been teaching at a comprehensive school in Hesse, Germany, for more than 7 years and besides his qualifications as an English and German teacher he taught other teachers about new methodology in both subjects two years ago. For several years he furthermore organised an annual trip to London for ninthgraders, so he is used to plan trips with a huge amount of students and he is also interested in Great Britain as such. Ms Wagner mainly teaches younger students and has also acheived some experience in organizing trips to Great Britain as well. She knows about the latest methodology and didactics in TEFL. Mrs. Hoppe is currently creating a skills compendium for TEFL at the Gesamtschule Gießen-Ost. She is also responsible for organising bilingual classes (e. g. History and English) for A-level students. Ms. Neu teaches English and Spanish to A-level students and knows metodology and didactics in both languages.
