Our youth exchange project is called GOAT - Getting Ourselves Active Together and was created out of mutual interest towards the wellbeing. Exchange takes place in Macedonia in a town called Krushevo on 23.-30.7.2016. Our project is planned and implemented together by macedonian, finnish, spanish and turkish organisations and their youngsters. Working methods we use to address our theme wellbeing; team building games, discussions, sports exercises, outdoor activities, inspirational speeches from experts, working in smaller groups, finding new information, trying out our new found info in practise and other learning by doing methods. This project helps people learn about how to find and preserve their wellbeing and get it back if we lose it. By obtaining wellbeing we will be more capable of coping with all the stress and obligations that come with life. Also, we intend to lay the groundwork on how to manage and maintain a balanced and peaceful life. Our goal is that what we learn about healthier living and wellbeing during this project we will take with us for a long time after.We have partly chosen this topic because under the current situation in around the world, when young people face challenges that are hard to overcome more and more are getting excluded and marginalized from society or resorting to violent behavior. We find that this is an alarming issue and believe that by improving the awareness how to manage your own wellbeing, we will be able to affect positively to the youths problem solving capabilities. In our project we have 1 youth leader and 8 youngsters aged 15-21 from each four countries, Macedonia, Turkey, Spain and Finland. They all have a common interest on the theme of wellbeing and they want to learn more about how to lead healthier lives to improve their own wellbeing. Also they find it important to share wellbeing around them. Some of our participants have economical and health obstacles, which motivates them even more to find out different ways to wellbeing.We expect that after the project our participants will have better understanding on what creates well being on a personal and general level. They will learn healthier ways to live by and hopefully take them into their everyday routines after the project. Our goal is also to grow participants self awareness and self confidence, which are of great relevance to our wellbeing.We hope to spread the word of wellbeing as far as we can through different social media applications before, during and after the project.
