GET ACTIVE TO GET HEALTHY is an international training addressed to youth workers , volunteers and people involved in the activation of young people , which aims to promote an active way of spending free time for the benefit of health. The training will be held on November 5 - November 13, 2014 , in the village of Poronin , near Zakopane. The project will be attended by 8 partners from EU countries (Italy, Bulgaria , Latvia , Estonia , Germany , the Czech Republic and Turkey) , who under the guidance of trainers will develop their competencies . In the basis of this project lay the observation that many young people work eight or more hours a day in front of the computer and then goes home and spends the next hour sitting on the couch while surfing the internet , watching TV or playing computer games. Research shows that the amount of time spent sitting in front of a computer can have a profound and irreversible impact on health. What's more , young people are very difficult to activate, despite the many of available options. The main objective of this project is to search for methods of activating youth , increasing competences of youth workers , promotion of healthy lifestyles , preventative health care and healthy eating. During the training designed activities are going to show ways to encourage innovative leisure and will encourage to change passive to an active lifestyle . Extremely important opportunity , which we cannot forget during this project, is the tenth anniversary of the Polish accession to the European Union . On this occasion we want to show colleagues from other European countries, how the European Funds help to work for the youth in Poland, what progress has been made . Very important aspect during this international project is ability to gain cross-cultural competences. During international evenings we will explore various international traditions and culture, and to overturn stereotypes of other nations . The principles of non-formal learning will methodology on which this training use. Thanks to combination with elements of formal learning is going to become a solid base for increasing the capacity of youth workers working at the local level. As part of this training four local and international projects are going to be created. They will be carried out after the completion of the activities planned during this project.
