Gesundheit lehren und lernen - Urban Public Health in Europe (UPHINE)
Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 31 mai 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The aim of the 2-year project "Teaching and Learning Health - Urban Public Health in Europe (UPHINE)" is to improve health promotion activities in the fields of healthy ageing, suicide prevention and migration. The Public Health Authority of the City Frankfurt am Main ("Gesundheitsamt") has already started a couple of pilot activities with the intention of a sustainable implementation on a larger scale. Project results are expected to generate new and more creative health promotion activities and to find improved ways to address the general public, and especially vulnerable groups. In order to achieve these aims staff skills and competencies need to be developed and management and organisational qualities to be improved. To provide suitable learning opportunities the UPHINE project will include adult education partners in the field of health promotion in six major european cities: Copenhagen, Barcelona, London, Vienna, Sofia and Amsterdam. Each mobility (hospitation/job shadowing) will consist of a group of 6 participants out of a total number of 15 members of staff that are responsible for the provison of health promotion activities in the Frankfurt Public Health Authority. To broaden and consolidate learning results each participant will take part in at least two mobilities abroad. The mobilities will last between 3 and 5 days, depending on the learning opportunities offered at the partner organisations. By fostering the participant´s creativity and offering an intercultural learning environment, project outcomes are expected to lead to new and innovative health promotion activities in the fields of healthy ageing, suicide prevention and migration, that will help to improve the access to the target groups, especially vulnerable groups. Hence, the qualification of staff will contribute directly to a higher acceptance of health promotion and increase the number of participants taking part in the activities that are offered. This matches the second project aim to implement better management strategies in order to create solid ground for future european partnerships. These are essential steps to establish "Teaching and Learning Health - Urban Public Health in Europe (UPHINE)" as a successful project in the Frankfurt Public Health Autority with a sustainable impact on the urban citizens´ health.
