Gemeinsames erkennen – Unterschiede wertschätzen – Kommunikation auf Augenhöhe ermöglichen – GEKO
Date du début: 1 sept. 2016, Date de fin: 31 août 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

GEKO wants to generate a relevant outcome for 15 young people from deprived origins, as well as for politicians, engaged in youth politics, who need a better intuition for the needs of significant parts of their community. The priority of this project is to create an equal dialogue between all participants. For adolescents, the feeling of being part of a community within their personal environment and within the European structure needs to be strengthened. The young participants need a conscious view on political participation and how decisions are made, and how these influence their everyday life.If the self-awareness and the feeling of being part of something more, part of a society raise the participation and interests in youth politics will increase.Politicians on the other hand have to be sensitised for the needs of these special young voters. A foundation has to be set to meet each other as equal members of the same society.Communication between politicians and the young people about similarities or differences in everyday life in the European society is one of the primary goals of this project. In preparation two national meetings take place in Vienna – organized by T.I.W. and BV 5.In these meetings the young participants are going to meet decision makers and youth politicians of their district. Therefore the start of the first meeting needs to be informal so all participants can meet each other on the same level. Some topics and examples for functional living together, expectations and fears will be discussed. Furthermore a word-rap with statements of all participants will be produced by the youths to collect the different experiences – of the adolescents and of the politicians. (cf. G. Main Activities)Afterwards the adolescents are going on a trip to the partner-city of Wien-Margareten – Berlin. This journey will be a chance for the participants to see how youth politics and living together functions in other European cities and which rights and challenges are included in a united society. This guarantees a stronger dimension of the intercultural dialogue between the partner organizations and the participants, adolescents and politicians, and the effects of these synergies and collaborations can and should be used for a better understanding in both directions.Furthermore the project offers the first chance for most of the young participants to visit another, foreign city inside the European Union and to realise what it means to be a European citizen.
