"Gemeinsam auf dem Sprung ins Leben"

Since more than 65 years the "CJD" (Christian Youth Village Foundation of germany) has been working with people with fewer opportunities in view of their integration into society and the employment market. Our Motto is "Let no one fall by the wayside" and "Everybody deserves a chance". Therefore we try to to develope personal skills an individual abilities to enable our target groups to cope with their personal "life path". The holistic, educational concept of the CJD is rooted in the Christian view of men and based on four cour competences: - Religious education: to provide guidance - Fine-arts education: to discover one's creative potentials - Political education: to understand democracy - Sports/Health education: to strive not only physical fitness The project "Let's jump togehther into life" in our centers in Versmold, Herten and Pritzwalk tries to increase the chances of young people with fewer opportunities and mental diseases to cope daily life and to get easier integrated into society and in the working market. Besides it supports a healthy life style, the exercise of outdoor activities, and cultural diversity because a great many of our trainees have a migrant background. Activity 1: CJD Versmold In the CJD Versmold we try to support especially the young people’s talents in MUSIC and ART. The volunteer will take part in sports and fine arts group activities and can offer activities according to his own abilities, inclinations and culture as like: group evenings on intercultural subjects, cooking, dancing, music, outdoor activities like biking, canoeing, climbing, football, badminton, swimming, choir, music band, theatre group, extra tuitions in different school subjects. The project in Versmold is an individual long term project with 2 places where we will host two female volunteers from Ukraine. Duration of the activity: 01.09.2015 - 31.08.201 and 01.11.2015 - 31.10.2016 Partner organisations: CJD Versmold (Germany, hosting), ISKRA (Ukraine, sending organisation) Activity 2: CJD Herten The aim of the project in Herten (2010-DE-65) is to help adolescants with psychological diseases to get personally stabilised, to help the target group to cope daily life, to finish school succesfully and to get easier integrated into society and in the working world. . The volunteer will take part in the different leisure activities. He should self-consistently develop additional, creative leisure educational offers for the young people he will be in charge with according to his personal abilities. We will particularly appreciate projects in the range of sports. Besides this the volunteer should organise activities showing his own cultural background: preparation of typical food, seasonal habits, music, dance, leisure activities for the target group…. The project is an individual long term project with a male volunteer from Ukraine. Duration of the activity: 01.10.2015 - 30.09.2016 Partner organisations: CJD Herten (hosting), ISKRA (sending organization) Activity 3: CJD Prignitz/Wohngruppe Pritzwalk The project in Prignitz tries to increase the chances of people with fewer opportunities (mental diseases) to cope daily life and to get easier integrated into society and in the working market. The CJD Prignitz is an institution with • Vocational training center • Residential homes In the field of working with mentally handicapped people the CJD Prignitz has a school für children and a residential home for children, teens and adults. We offer integration and participation in social life and community. We support our residents to live their life on their own as good as possible. We work with creative elements, music, sports and health and religious pedagogic. In our individual long term evs-projects in Pritzwalk (2013-DE-157) we will host 1 female roumanian volunteer.
