Gaining working experience in Europe

The new curriculum of Handelsakademie 2014 claims a compulsory internship for students of Handelsakademie. BHAK Liezen is entitled to award its graduates, majoring in International Business, the European excellence label EBBD, when they conduct an internship abroad additionally to their education at school.The project "Gaining working experience in Europe" aims to support students of BHAK Liezen on their way to conduct an internship abroad. Support starts with information about internships abroad, application training, assistance to find a position for the internship, accommodation advice, and goes as far as preparation and follow-up of the internships.Furthermore project goals are to establish a network between enterprises and BHAK Liezen to provide students tested and interesting positions for internships.BHAK Liezen uses this project to strengthen its good relations with local enterprises and partner institutions abroad.The participants of the project should improve their foreign language skills.Participating teachers and students should get an insight in different types of businesses, foreign living and working cultures.Participants should practice to leave their comfort zone by working abroad and communicating in an other language as their mother-tongue.Students should practice their in school gained skills in work processStudents should use their time abroad to exchange learning and working experience with their colleagues.Students should make friends and maintain friendship with working colleagues, people speaking foreign languages and having a different cultural background.Students should learn to accept that there are other ways of doing business as the Austrian way in terms of meeting culture, punctuality, etc.Students should learn to appreciate the variety of languages, cultures and freedom of opinion in the European Union.
