Future School
Date du début: 1 juil. 2014, Date de fin: 30 juin 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Vatiala School has earlier participated in a Comenius project ’Working in Europe – jobs in the past, present and future’. One of the most important issues discussed in this project was the challenges for future school and its pupils, what kind of skills pupils should have in order to cope in future society. Moreover, our school is actively involved in various fields of developing, in the planning of the new national curriculum for 2016, in the regional planning group of schools’ global issues and IT planning groups. We have a large number of pupils with special needs and also special classes. We aimed at improving the use of IT in a versatile and innovative way in teaching and learning both in general and special classes. For this purpose we looked for European courses for the teachers. One of our class teachers has started a pilot project using art therapy for pupils who need extra support. This teacher participated in an Art Therapy Summer School in Cork, Ireland to deepen her knowledge in this issue. The aim of our project was to route international co-operation more deeply into our work and make it common practice in our school. We also looked for new partnerships in the global framework. Improving language skills is essential for the teachers helping them work in a global environment. For this purpose we wanted to offer European language courses for our staff. All in all, we aimed at deepening our teachers’ professional skills to help them support future school pupils in their learning.
