Future-proof Construction SMEs. For a new generation of Safety, Sustainability and Human Resources-oriented Project Managers.
Date du début: 1 nov. 2010,

This proposal aims at creating a new professional figure for the construction sector: the Site Manager for Future-Proof SMEs (SMFPS), endowed with innovative management skills, tools and intervention methods needed in order to face the main three trends affecting the sector: (1)Internationalisation, global sourcing, and subcontracting; (2)political and societal demands for Sustainability; and (3)high Fatality and Accident rates. The SMFPS will be able to properly coordinate site workers in a Safe and Sustainable-oriented way, promoting a conscious approach to risk management and balancing 'lean' thinking with a developmental approach to HR management. Thus resulting in improved working conditions, including health and safety, in the construction sector, and in the creation of preconditions to attracting and retaining a future workforce. ACTIVITIES-To develop the new European Qualification Framework of the SMFPS, in terms of knowledge, skills and competencies needed in order to be able to (1) coordinate differentiated workforce with regard to specialisation and internationalisation, (2) organise the logistics of the construction process to minimise the environmental burdens, (3) organise instruction and training of staff as regards working practices that comply with health and safety regulations.-To develop an Info-training toolkit for SMFPS, containing specific motivational, informative, formative and operative tools-To develop a specific Formative Mobile Game for on-site training addressed to site workers - a multicultural, adult and low skilled target group -, easing the operative tasks of Site managers. E.g. motivating site workers to comply with health and safety regulations, and ensuring that environmental burdens are minimised-To train a number of 350-500 SMFPS coming from different EU countries-To develop and populate a Peer Developmental Network for SMFPS, enabling them to continue and acquire new competencies via an EU exchange of good practices
