Young people learn how politics in the Netherlands functions and how the decision making process works. In addition participants will increase their capacity by means of training and master classes. Skills that are important for social participation in general and political participation in particular will be improved. Basic life skills as cooperation, discussing, and listening are part of the trainings. But also articulating the own opinion in an acceptable way, formulating both arguments and counter arguments and bringing them into the spotlight are important aspects of the training and workshops. Young people learn there are different views and opinions co-existing in the democracy. We find this important prerequisites for the participation of the young people in society, school, work, but also for the promotion and safeguarding of democracy in the Netherlands.
