The Communication from the Commission to the EU Parliament: “New Skills for New Jobs” emphasizes that employment, especially in the construction sector, will be strongly affected by the transition towards a low-carbon economy. In this light, a better match between the supply of skills and labour market demand is necessary. Companies have a key role in assessing skills, needs and in upgrading. It is essential to be quick to adapt and gain a new orientation towards an eco- sustainable economy with a suitably trained workforce with „green“ knowledge and competencies.
