The FUSION project aims to promote sustainable development among small companies and to engender environmentally-responsible enterprise in the 2 Seas area, by supporting SMEs in understanding and benefiting from new business models and eco-innovation.9 organisations involved in business support services will collaborate in the FUSION project to help over 250 SMEs from the pre-start-up to high growth phase. These SMEs will then become the driving force of the eco-innovation revolution, embedding new business models such as the “life-cycle mindset” and “continuous optimisation”.By bringing together recognised experts in the provision of business support services, the FUSION project will work to identify, test and implement a range of innovative business support services and tools designed to help SMEs. Expected Results: What are the key results of the project?Expected results :- 652 enterprises assessed-256 SMEs supported intensively by the partners- 23 events organised- 5 Cross border seminars- 104 individuals benefiting from cross border assistance- 1 cross border communication strategy- 20,000 users informed about the project-- 1 online cross border platform containing project information and toolbox- 6 surveys completed for the SME barometer- 6 cross border observatory meetings- 1 eco-innovation guide- 3 research summary reportsAre all partners and territories benefitting from the results?Target groups:These include individuals interested in started a business- eg students, women, older workers, eco-entrepreneurs ( Eco-enterprise are businesses that produce goods and services to measure, prevent, limit or correct environmental impacts such as pollution of water, air, soil, and problems related to waste, noise and ecosystems), eco-responsible enterprises (Eco-responsible enterprise is a company that internalizes environmental issues in its production, the ultimate objective being to save up natural resources and minimize its impacts on ecosystems). Start up ( less than 3 years), high growth companies, social enterprises, service providers to businesses.Long term beneficiaries:These include policies makers/Public authorities/Regional development agencies, businesses support actors, incubation centres, others actors relevant to sustainable economic development, organisations representing the business community, universities & research institutes.What are the effects / outcomes for the territories involved?In all partner areas the expected outcomes include: local upskilling of entrepreneurs on sustainable innovation, reduction in the local carbon footprint, expansion of the network of sustainable & innovative entrepreneurs, local rise in the number start up and/or survival rate of start up. In addition, UK & Fr partners would see job creation and/or job saved from redundancy.In Belgium the expected outcome would be job creation and/or job saved from redundancy.
