Date du début: 1 août 2015, Date de fin: 31 août 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

EVS project ''From Youth to Youth'' is hosted by Saldus youth council ''Es un mes''. Duration of the project is 10 month. Partners for this project are Centrul de Voluntariat Cluj-Napoca from Rumania and SOCIAL YOUTH DEVELOPMENT K.A.NE from Greece. There are 2 volunteers in project - guy from Rumania and 25 years old girl from Greece. Both volunteers are motivated, ready for new challenges and with previous experience in volunteering into their local community. Main location for this project is Saldus youth leisure and initiative center ''Skunis'', which is daily visited by average of 40 children and youth of age between 8-25. These youngsters come from different social backgrounds and lot of them have a low motivation and participation level. By bringing international volunteers into local community it is possible to make their day to day life different, motivate them to be more active, develop their skills, acknowledge and use their opportunities in Latvia, Europe and world. For implementation of project activities volunteers will be cooperating with schools, NGO's, youth centers around Saldus municipality and Latvia. Project activities (various workshops, cultural nights, events to promote volunteering ect.) will be implemented through the use of Non-formal learning tools and methods. This will encourage inter-cultural communication, a dialogue, a reduction of stereotypes. The main beneficiaries of the project are Saldus youth. They will be more aware of inter-cultural issues, their ability to communicate with other cultures will increase. And not least important project will help to developed understanding of the similarities and differences in European and Mediterranean countries through people from region. Implementation of this project will make cooperation between participating countries stronger which will lead to follow-up events, activities and projects.
