The objective is to examine, after approving the strategies for work with intoxicant and drug abusers, the development of work with intoxicant abusers that has taken place in the municipalities of Southeast Finland since the approval of strategies for work with intoxicant and drug abusers and to assess the effect of implemented measures in the changing operating environment. Information will be obtained on the intoxicant, drug and contagious disease situation in neighbouring areas, mainly the cities of Svetogorsk and Vyborg and on the state of work with intoxicant abusers and the effects of these in the project area. Information will be disseminated on the best operating practices for work with intoxicant abusers in the area, and flexible and easily available routes for obtaining treatment will be developed for drug users. Taoilored training and support services will be created for people who have gone through drugs treatment to enable them to transfer to working life, and also a joint intoxicant abuse strategy for the towns of Imatra and Svetogorsk.
