Friends of Gravity

Friends of Gravity is a 10-day training course taking place in Hollókő, Hungary, 2-11 May, 2013., hosted and organised by Egyesek Youth Association. Participants are 26 youth workers, leaders, volunteers and active youngsters from 9 NGOs and informal groups from 9 countries: Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Turkey, Croatia, Hungary, the Netherlands, Greece and Bulgaria, supported by 2 trainers and 4 support staff. For many of the partners this is their first international project.Themes are the promotion of social inclusion, active participation, cultural diversity, European citizenship and healthy lifestyles on the local, grasroot level. We focus on the development of the competence of creativity and enterpreneurship and the introduction of contemporary dance as a tool in these fields.Objectives:- to improve professional competences, with special focus on creativity and enterpreneurship of youth workers active in the fields of social inclusion, cultural diversity, health, participation and citizenship.- to share best practice in integrating methods of contemporary dance and performances in youth work and non-formal education of these themes- to extend the variety of interactive and participatory methods used and by this improve the quality and efficiency of local youth work done by partners reaching disadvantaged and unorganised youth- to create a base for further international projects among grassroot initiativesActivities:- workshops introducing techniques and methods of contemporary dance, exploring its possibilities and creating guidelines for its adaptation in local and international youth work- demo workshops to share best practices of promoters and participants - open workshops involving local youth- dialogue groups to facilitate individual learning processes- group rehearsals with coaching and video-feedback- open performances involving the local communities- promotion and information of the Youth in Action Programme and basing future partnerships
