Holluf Pile school addresses with this application three key development points that all have the purpose of ensuring that the school also in the long term provides the students the opportunity of learning what is necessary in order to take part in a society characterized by constant change and very clear demands regarding the competencies of the youth in the way of communicative abilities, cultural understanding, fundamental and diverse digital abilities and the skill of solving problems that do not yet exist. As a learning organisation we want to enhance our staff’s competences in early language learning in order to be able to create more opportunities for the young students to engage in cultural exchanges and thereby gain experiences in how to apply one self in a culture different from their own. This ability will be paramount in their future lives. We also want to gain experiences with how international schools in Europa have developed their schools. Therefor our international staff will visit our international partner schools to learn from their strategies, overcome obstacles and successes.In addition to this we want the new subject of handcraft and design to play an important role in the development of the school. The subject will become a pioneer in developing training courses in entrepreneurship and project management. Problem solving as a discipline will be a necessary part of any school subject in the future in order for the students to develop the ability to have innovative solution to problems. It is therefore very important through this project to enhance the qualifications of the teachers teaching the new subject and thereby helping them set the course for the subject as well as the development of the school as a whole. The last key development point is digitalisation. The Danish school system has for years focused on equipment and access points instead of the development of teaching using ICT as a tool to enhanced learning. That is a key point that we want to start focussing. For that reason the school take part in an international project with the development of ICT based learning as its theme. We want to involve the school further in this project and thereby create the environment for the teachers to focus on developing teaching focussing on enhancing the learning outcome of the students through the use of ICT.
