The Franco-British Cycle Plan aims to encourage and facilitate sustainable tourism and economic development on both sides of the English Channel. An integrated approach comprising both a high-quality infrastructure in form of a coherent transfrontier cycle network as well as support and information services, including accommodation, will be applied to achieve these objectives. The completion and promotion of two high profile routes "the Coastal Cycle Route and the Avenue Verte/Greenway" will play a crucial role in promoting cycling as a core part of a project aimed at integrating sustainable tourism, mobility and economic development both in the coastal area and the hinterland. The global project is divided into several stages: Studies, Infrastructure and Promotional activities.
