AFEV would like to organize the third edition of the European Committed Youth Forum (FOREJE in French) on october 7th, 8th and 9th in Paris. In order to build this project, AFEV is working in partnership with 7 other organizations sharing complementary visions about young generations: Anacej, Animafac, Les Petits débrouillards, Coexister, Simplon, UnisCité and Voxe.org.The FOREJE will offer a space for dialogue between young people and encourage them to form their ownopinion about what they want to change in the society around seven specific topics: equality, democracy ,togetherness, economy, ecological transition, engagement and digitalization. It will also allow young people to meet, debate and build ideas with experts and decision makers. Those seven topics by young volunteers involved in the organizations leading the project.Between May and September 2016, those young ambassadors will start debating and brainstorming ideas around the different topics via a digital platform.A coordinator will animate this platform with the support of an expert in each of the 7 selected topics. The FOREJE seminar will take place on October 7th, 8th and 9th 2016 in Paris and will gather 230 European Frenchspeaking young people. Most of them are volunteers in our different movements. The FOREJE seminar is built around two plenary sessions. The first one will open the meeting and launch the debates. The second one will end the meeting, synthesize the ideas debated during various workshops and give prospects with two TED-like talks on European topics..Between these two sessions, participants will split into different workshops about the 7 topics, depending on their interest. Those groups will gather 3 times during the weekend. In order to enable discussions, each group is limited to15 members. Trained volunteers will animate the workshops in an innovative and participatory manner. For each topic, participants will build shared diagnosis, with the help of a decision maker or an expert who will give them their point of view and allow them to go further in the reflection process. At the end of the second plenary session, participants will summarize the solutions they agreed on and share them with all the participants.During the year following the FOREJE seminar, the organizing associations will be responsible for the solutions formulated by the youth, and will advocate for them to public authorities. The ambassadors, who are representatives of the young volunteers involved in the different organizations, will play a part in all the project phases: development, implementation and evaluation. What impact do we want to have?We would like young people to develop their capacity to form their opinion on different subjects, talk about it and find solutions on issues that concern them. They will acquire skills facilitating social inclusion like: to be openminded, to be able to argue, to beorganized. Those skills could be useful for them in their future studies and will help foster social inclusion and professional integration. It will also give a meaning to their citizenship in our multicultural society and in a digital era.Organizations will integrate the findings in their advocacy work and defend them within their network of decision makers. In the long term, young participants of the FOREJE will be able to stand up for their ideas and solutions while debating with other young people or with the people they will meet during their voluntary work. The interpersonal skills they will develop during the project will allow them to do so in a tolerant and constructive way.
