The project is directed at teachers with an independent use of the language (C1- Total Control), who wish to know about or improve all aspects of applied didactics and extend their knowledge about culture and traditions in Spain.
With this project we have combined the following two objectives. Firstly, improving the course quality of all language courses offered by the VHS, and secondly, establishing new contacts.
Our lecturer was able get training in methodology and didactics of Spanish classes,
enhance her own knowledge and keep her teaching skills up to date. The focus of the action was, inter alia, on the presentation of new ideas and proposals for instructional design. Here, the different levels A1/A2, and later B and C, were addressed with regard to spanish grammar (e.g. tense, prepositions, „ser y estar“, „subjuntivo“, conditional) which, being taught in accordance to the respective level, poses some difficulties.
A particularly important point in the entire training was the exchange of knowledge and experience concering methods and ideas in the field of foreign language teaching among participants from various international backgrounds. Cultural activities in the afternoon and weekend of the language institute was an important part of the training, which included excursions and visits to known and important monuments in Granada and the surrounding area ( "pueblos blancos en Andalucía") and workshops (e.g. the history of the Arabs in Spain, the history of Granada). Sit ins on lectures of a beginner`s courses, which was offered in the afternoons, was an interesting addition the training.
Following her stay in Spain, the lecturer held a presentation for her collegues at the VHS and thus acted as dessiminator.
The Erasmus+ Programm of the European Union is a particularly good opportunity to develop professionally, gain new contacts and exchange experience in an internationally composed group.
New ideas and findings will influence the entire work of the VHS in order to improve and update the internal teaching competence.
