Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 31 mai 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Ebba Petterssons Private School provides education in French, Spanish, German and English by well educated and certified teachers. Despite of this we see that a certain amount of students each year drop out from their studies in modern languages to focus more on Swedish and English. At Ebba Petterssons School we work with internationalization from different angels and consider high language skills very important for the international work for our students both during their studies and in their future life. Therefore we want to improve and develop the skills of our teachers as to learning methods and language so as to meet the needs of the students and prevent their dropping out of language studies. All the four languages are languages that develop and change. To maintain a high quality education it is thus important that the teachers regularly visit a country where the language they teach are spoken by as a native language.and are educated by native speakers. This will also contribute to attain the part of the Swedish curriculum stating: "consider the circumstances under which people live, circumstances in the society and culture in different contexts and parts of the world where the language is spoken." The internationalization plan for our school has as a goal that every student at least once during their education has a personal contact with a student in or outside of Europe. They shall be able to communicate in French, German, Spanish or English and participate in a common project. Our goal is that each student shall participate in a travel to one of the Européen countries either as part of a student exchange program, as part of a net based project , or as a cultural travel organized by the school. As a part of this program teachers also need to regularly visit a country where the language they teach are spoken and take part in the culture of the country as well as deepen their knowledge and understanding of its language and culture. The number of participants in the project are our ten language teachers. As all the teachers that teach languages from year 5-9 at our school are to participate in this refreshment project, this is expected to increase the quality of our language education. Each teacher will together with the head master find and choose a refreshment course suitable for the needs of that teacher and for the needs of the school. During a period of two years the teachers will take turns to do go through their courses and on their return they will share new experiences with their colleagues as to knowledge, methods and other things that might be helpful. The courses will also present an opporunity to meet and to exchange experiences with teachers from other countries as well as create new contacts for future projects. It is our hope that we, with the help of this project, will make progress in our development of the education of languages, as well as create contacts with future project partners. In this way we expect us to make progress in motivating our students to engage in their language studies and to attain higher goals of knowledge.
