Context: The placement is organized for students who learn in a vocational highschool, during a mandatory training period being a part of their studies. It takes place in retail shops or to service providers in the city of Brighton UK. Objectives: The objectives are:Learning professional practices appropriate to the country, Improving language on professional, practical and cultural level. Number of participants: Group of 20 students distributed on two specialities: 10 in business and trade sections, 10 in hairstyle section. Profile of participants: Students involved in a vocational Highschool in commercial departments and hairstyle department. Boys and girls. Age: from 16 to 20 years, registered, according to the department, in European classes DNL ( Professional trainings tought in English language, one or two hours a week ) Description of the activities: Training periods spent in stores or in hairdressing salons, under responsibility of the shop manager as a tutor and overseen by the teacher in charge of the group. Practical activities of the common life, cultural activities by visiting historic and today' s sites. Methodology of project management: The management is assured by one or several teachers in charge who write the file then put into practice it: relations with stores and service providers, negotiation of the agreements, establishment of the budget, contact with service providers for travel, connecting travels, accommodation. On site organization of the training period, looking after students at professional and individual level. Description of results and expected profits: Expected results are a better opportunity of success in the vocational high school BTEC diploma, as well as obtaining the European additional distinction of the BTEC diploma and the Europass. Potential profits on length-term: Expected profits are: Better possibilities of employment for students, an easier professional mobility throughout Europe and a geographical and professional extension of their domains for employment searches, as well as a better autonomy.
