Title: CLIL training in Ferrobus primary school
Context
Our school, in Palma del Rio, Cordoba, is a bilingual teaching school in Spanish and English languages since 2009.
The present needs are focused on CLIL methodology training of the teaching staff either for language and non linguistic subjects teachers.
In the present course there are 4 non linguistic areas teachers and two English language teachers. This bilingual teaching group meets the needs of CLIL methodology for the sake of the success of the bilingual teaching program.
According to the centre needs these are the defined objectives:
-To develop the bilingual teaching skills expected in the European framework.
-To manage the classroom with CLIL Methodology.
-To coordinate both areas: llinguistic and non-linguistic involved in CLIL method.
- To reach the linguistic skills to teach in the foreing language.
- To create an European sense as teachers.
Methodology:
The proposed activities respond to CLIL method training, partly received in our centre and completed in the United Kimdom in the applied institutions.
Activities previuos to the movility will prepare the participants:
-Formal courses in Junta de Andalucia training website.
-Reading of selected articles about CLIL method and bilingual program management.
-Work team for the creation of bilingüal teaching materials.
The applied courses: “Content and language integrated learning (primary)” at Bell teaching campus, Hommerton College Cambridge and “CLIL for primary teachers” at Pilgrims, Kent Campus, Canterbury or others, will offer a training which will complete the knowledge of the teachers and improve their linguistic skills. It will be reflected in the quality of teaching in the school and the students performance.
