This project is intended to make it possible for two students in the Intermediate Vocational Training Degree Cycle in Emergency Medical Technician at our educational institution to do internships abroad. That is, the implementation of the work experience development plan in a Portuguese company devoted to emergency transportation called Flor da Ría.The candidates’ profile to obtain the two scholarships encompasses students in the Intermediate Vocational Training Degree Cycle in Emergency Medical Technician aged between 18 and 35 years old approximately, with great interest in both the theoretical contents of the different training modules and the performance of the practical training. These students are interested in doing internships abroad for reasons that include work and life experience, knowing other ways to do the job, getting acquainted with a socio-cultural background different from their own, the prospect of other work possibilities, etc. During his stay the student will carry out activities such as applying ethical and work values in the development of his professional activity, identifying and implementing prevention measures in his professional activity, maintaining all the work material clean and organised, knowing how to perform work activities in a team, and performing the procedures related to his professional activity. The methodology will be based on a flexible and individualized teaching-learning process which will be adapted to achieve the competences of the degree. All this will be reflected in the formative programme, developed by the company’s partner and the school tutor, which will also cover all the tasks that the student is to accomplish. Afterwards the student will be assessed by means of an appendix also developed by both tutors on the basis of the activities developed in the formative programme, where whether or not the student has performed the activities scheduled properly with the aim of achieving the learning objectives will be reflected. Furthermore, our methodology will also be based on a constant communication through different media, including videoconferences, which will be carried out by, on the one hand, the tutor of the company and the school tutor, and, on the other hand, the tutors and the student. The objective of this communication is to perform a conscientious follow-up of the student, check his learning rhythm, achievements, or any problem which required from proper attention.The results and benefits expected from this project are: -To improve the linguistic competence of our students.-To offer the student the experience of getting acquainted with a new socio-cultural background. -To favour and promote the participation of European companies in the formation of our students. -To open our centre to other cultures to foster interculturality.-To improve the professional competences of our students.-To retrieve information of the students that will participate in the project, with the aim of improving the teaching-learning process. It is our belief that the experience will be positive for our students, in so far as they will not only have the chance to improve the above-mentioned competentes and get involved in a working context different from the Spanish one, but also feel an active part of the society where they live. For the company and the educational centre these projects will be beneficial too, as they will improve their competitiveness and their image to the outside world.
