FORMACIÓN DEL PROFESORADO. MEJORA DE LA COMPETENCIA LINGÜÍSTICA EN INGLÉS Y DESARROLLO DE NUEVAS METODOLOGÍAS RELACIONADAS CON EL APRENDIZAJE DE LENGUAS EXTRANJERAS.

After analyzing its needs, the IES Campiña Alta has designed this project setting the next objectives in a medium and long term:
- Giving stability and improving the quality of the multilingualism program.
- Increasing the internationalization of the school counting on it with the involvement of as many teachers and students as possible.
- Encouraging the European vision of students and their knowledge of new cultures through contact with people from other countries.
In order to fulfill those medium and long term objectives, the specific short-term objectives are the next:
- Improving the linguistic competence of teachers.
- Developing new methodologies to improve linguistic and non-linguistic subjects teaching, using English.
- Establishing partnerships with European centers involving both teachers and students.
The activities that are part of the project are divided into 2 periods:
- Training period, during which the selected teachers will participate in courses in UK on English or using English. With both types of courses teachers will improve their language proficiency. In addition, courses in English will focus on new methodologies related to language learning, which will impact positively on students at the school. The selected training courses are the next:
"Creative Methodology for the Classroom"; "CLIL for Secondary Teachers"; "Using Languages Teaching Technologies" and 3 courses "General Inglés Language Courses".
- Establishment of partnerships with other European centers through eTwinning or participation in a strategic partnership through the Erasmus + program.
All the participating teachers will ...
- Improve their language proficiency, which will affect how students learn English. If applicable, due to the performance of official assessment tests, request evidence of their level of Castilla la Mancha.
- Apply in the classroom the knowledge gained on new methodologies and develop lesson plans using it. Those lesson plans will be openly available on the website of the center for the general public.
- Start eTwinning associations or Erasmus strategic partnerships, promoting the internationalization of the school and responding to the demands of the students about working in cooperation with schools in other countries (see section D).
- Develop reports and other products required for monitoring and evaluation.
Performing those activities, the short, medium and long term objectives of the project will be achieved and also an improvement of the educational offer of the school.
