FORMACIÓN DEL PROFESORADO EN METODOLOGÍA CLIL Y MEJORA DE LA COMPETENCIA LINGÜÍSTICA EN LENGUA INGLESA

We are a multilingual school. We teach contents in 3 languages (Spanish, Basque and English), and we teach German and French as a second foreign language too.
Now we intend to deepen teaching content in English. And so we consider the CLIL a cornerstone of our system. We would like to have highly qualified teachers, a key factor for successful learning. In the short term, our aim is to have qualified teachers from the areas of History/Geography or Natural Science/Technique with a proficient level in English (C1) who have taken part in CLIL course in order to improve their teaching methods. We believe that training in specific CLIL methodology for secondary education will help our teachers to acquire or improve their language and methodological skills.
Many of our students have benefited from our exchange programs with schools from Germany and France carried out by our school over the last 14 years. In this way, they have improved their language competence as well as their motivation. Now we have gone a step further and we have started offering the students the possibility of choosing different subjects in English language (Social Science, Music or Business Studies, for example.). However, we would need more teachers with a better knowlede of English), so that they can also join and we can continue in this course of action in the next years. Besides, attending these courses, apart from improving their language competence, they will become more aware of the European dimension and will learn a lot from other European colleages, improving their teaching methods. That will benefit our students and the whole educative community.
We also would like to take part next years a in a mobility program with other European schools, so we need more teachers inlvolved with good command of English and experience in this field.
