The project’s aim is to rediscover the relations between people living in the area and the river as ecological system. Sustainable use of the possibilities provided by the river, while maintaining and improving the environment. The main activities of the project are:1. Organisation of programs for youth:This activity package aims at the youth living on the two target areas - "Man and Nature” quiz for the region’s youth. Two-round, bilingual quiz about environmental protection on the Internet, using the website. The obligatory practical tasks of the quiz: mapping of the illegal waste deposits near the river, holding waste collecting actions, initiating waste action groups in the settlements in order to prevent the re-formation. The programme will be closed with a youth meeting. The best teams will show the results of their work in a presentation during the World-day of Water programme and on the website.- “Do not hurt the Szamos!”: In the programme young people call the attention to the values and insecurity of the river Szamos with the means of fine arts. Three age groups can enter with drawing, painted mosaic and other artistic products. 2. Organisation of programs for adults:The second target group of the programme is the adult society. The aim is the approach-shaping of this target group and its involvement in active nature-environmental protection actions.- Preparation of professional studies and forwarding them to the target groups. - Opening programmes on two scenes with commonly elaborated themes. Sphere of participants: representatives of concerned settlements, civil organizations, local entrepreneurs and agricultural entrepreneurs, representatives of the trade. The target group is formed by 6-18 years old young people (3 age groups) and adult society (representatives of local governments of settlements, local activists, civil organizations, conservancy professionals, entrepreneurs interested in eco-tourism, farmers, producing local products).Among the project results: 4 conferences, 6 trainings of trainers, 1 project website.
