50 participants between 13 and 17 years old and coming from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Romania, Greece and Ireland will meet from the 10th to the 19th July 2015 in order to take part to the 5th edition of the youth exchange "Food4Thought. "Villa Padri Barnabiti" in Gandellino, province of Bergamo, will be the location of the youth exchange that will last 10 days. The main topic of the youth exchange will be the food as a tool for intercultural learning, putting great attention on the theme of good, clean and sustainable food that respects the environment. Another theme of great interest will be sport, strongly related to the healthy lifestyle and promotion of the outdoor activities and life. In this international youth exchange, each group will teach to the other participants to prepare and cook a typical dish from its own country; moreover, there will be workshops about fresh past and sauces preparation. For what concern the topic of the sport, we will point our attention on outdoor tournaments of the main sports and mainly on team activities that will be fundamental and educational in order to learn the importance of union, task division and teamwork. Also during other activities such as working groups, discover the location, workshops about healthy diet, sustainable food production and cooking we will work on the aspect of the teamwork, giving to the participants always the opportunity to work in different and international groups in each occasion. These are the activities we will carry out in the first part of the project, whereas in the first days we will implement different activities such as ice breakers, team buildings, intercultural learning role games, get to know each other games and rules' agreement. Finally, in the last part of the youth exchange, we will focus on the creation of the final event, on the evaluation and future projects activities. During the project it's expected also one visit to Milan, where we'll carry out teambuilding activities to discover the city and where we'll visit the trade fair Expo 2015, especially the thematic area of Future Food District #FFD. It's expected also another day out, in which the participants will visit the local farm Agri-giò and its local breeding and farming techniques that respect the environment and human beings; then in the afternoon we will take participants to an adventure park where they will do outdoor activities in contact with nature. For the visibility and dissemination of the results, participants will take part to one popular local event where they can get in contact with local people; then we will publish the results of the youth exchange on our websites such as www.scambiinternazionali.it, on our Facebook page and a video that describes the experience of our project on our Youtube channel. The exchange will be the 5th edition of the project "Food4Thought" and will contribute significantly to spread good practises and tools for the education about food and healthy lifestyle through non formal education methods to a great number of partners around Europe. Nonetheless it will contribute in the creation of a strong network of organisations for future collaboration on youth exchanges for underages.
