Food for good
Date du début: 1 mai 2016, Date de fin: 31 juil. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Food for GoodThe Dutch consumer throws away approximately 2,6 billion of edible food every year! At the same time we have particpants (between 16 and 23 years old) of which about 75% don't even have enough money/food at home to come with lunch to our foundation, but at the same time if we have food (by our sponsor Albert Heijn) available that maybe doesn't look perfect they will not eat it. Strange! We saw with the participants a documentairy about dumpster diving; there is a sub culture in Amsterdam of people who refuse to buy food because of the waste. They know exactly where to search for it and than they prepare a meal from the food they found. One part the participants found it filthy but the other part they found it very interesting the whole concept of dumpster diving. So they decide to make a project out of it with food as a main theme. We met with Daria in Portugal and they have experience with this topic and learning about learning in 3 ways by watching somebody, by doing yourself with an example from somebody and by doing yourself without an example and we sort of fit these two together and the participants like to explore these ways of learning about learning, about eachother and about the subculture, recycle & waste culture. Food for Good is a youth exchange that will unite 18 young people and leaders from the Netherlands and Spain in Amsterdam, in June 2016, to exchange their cultures and traditions through cuisine, getting to know each other and realities of city and rural lives. All the workshops and activities, organized and later conducted by participants of the exchange are based on non-formal education method, allowing young people to discover better themselves, their learning process and creativity.
