FOLLOWING THE FOOTSTEPS OF MEDEA
Date du début: 1 août 2013,

The ancient legend of Medea as a symbol for migration and intercultural relations was chosen as an entry point to bring young people from different European countries together and to discuss notions of culture, cultural heritage and multiculturalism and their relevance in an increasingly cultural diverse Europe.Looking at constantly high or even occasionally increasing tensions in multicultural societies and the prospect that due to migration within and into the EU multicultural communities will rather grow than decrease, Europe’s youth faces particularly in cultural mixed societies questions about their own identity, about their own culture and home as well as about differences between humans of different origins. Xenophobia, racism and intolerance are in these situations threats for all people.Consequently, the aims of the project are:- To foster creativity and critical thinking of young people by providing safe space for discussion and dialogue about culture, cultural heritage and multiculturalism- To analyse diverse forms of arts and their influence on perception of culture and national narratives- To create reflections of young people about culture and identity using arts as an expressionThe project will be organized for 32 young people from Armenia, Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Estonia, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Latvia. The Academy for Peace and Development will coordinate and host the project in Kobuleti, Georgia, from 11-21 September 2013.
