Folk - Like it!
Date du début: 1 janv. 2015, Date de fin: 31 mars 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The "Folk - Like it!" project is an initiative focused around folklore and national identity awareness among young people. Its goal is to show that folklore isn't a relict of the past but a fascinating material with which you can build innovative dance-art, worthy of presenting in the XXI century. On the other hand, during our activities we will try to learn and understand the main ideas and techniques of promotion and culture marketing. All of that in order to give young people interested in folklore the tools enabling them to effectively promote their undertakings. The participants will come from two EU member states - Poland and Lithuania. From each country a group of 21 people was chosen - 20 young people between the age of 15 and 20 as well as one supervisor. All the participants will meet in Polańczyk and for 11 project days they will try their best at various dance as well as promotion exercises. Among the methods of informal learning that we will use are dance and computer workshops, moderated discussions and debates, integrative and simulative games, individual and group work and activities involving the local society. We will try to prepare two actions promoting an event - a dance show built on and around folklore. Both the dance show and the promoting events will be fully prepared by the participants supervised by the leaders, who specialise in folk dances but also are competent in cultural marketing and promotion. In addition to that we have invited guests, who will surely enrich the effects with their expertise. We are hoping that the participants will return from the project full of ideas for using folklore in dance projects in a innovative way but also with knowledge about the means of promoting them effectively. Thus, our expectations about the visibility of the effects of the project, especially in the long term, are very high.
