Vimmerby gymnasium during the academic year 14/15 and 15/16 implemented an "Erasmus + mob School" project in cooperation with partners in other EU countries to improve the skills of staff. Overall objective was to increase the number of students who finished their education with full secondary school diploma, something that have been decreasing. Three distinct skill-needs based on school´s development needs of the school and became project goals: - Increase of expertise around the methods, organization and forms of learning in language and mathematics - Improved reception and guidance of students without high school eligibility and increased skills in working with students with special needs and support - Improved contacts with business and better organization of the APL activities. These project objectives reformulated later to three competence areas: Dropout, Reading/ Methodology and Coolabortaion School-Enterprise/APL. A total of 25 staff participated in mobility activities in the form of Course and In-Service Training (5deltagare) and Job Shadowing (20). Staff´s professionality, work, opportunity to participate and wish to take part in the project have been the basis for the selection of participants and distributed as below. Drop Out - Teachers in IM programs, responsible for PlugIn, Student Care Staff, Special Education, responsible for monitoring the responsibility of the municipality, Rector of IM programs, personnel responsible for elevstöd / student associations Literacy/Methodology - Librarian, Swedish Teachers IM programs, Swedish / English teacher, French / Spanish teacher, science teacher, math teacher IM Coolaboration School-Enterprise/APL - Principals vocational programs, Area Director / former. instructors, teachers Entrepreneurship / Internationalization During job shadowing, participants followed teachers and students, participated in discussions and exchanges of experiences with colleagues, visited organisations/businesses that support the school's mission, received studied material and teaching document. The school has gained new skills to support pupils at risk to drop out, increasing the variety of support activities and methods for students with special needs, strengthened the role of the library in the school and the increased interest in reading / writing, developed forms of cooperation with local companies, gained tools to better meet the students with knowledge gaps from high school. In the longer term, the school hopes to develop more of the new models/methods and activities that the Mobility Project has given us and that the school fulfill plans for new collaborations with our project partners.
