Our school aims to establish a solid cooperation with European Vocational Education and Training organizations, which will raise the image of our school, improve communication among teachers, and between students and teachers, promote teachers competence, improve students' learning capability, help students to understand and come closer to a European multicultural/internationalized environment and Improve students' employability through practical training in a European dimension. Encouraging teachers and students to be involved in European Mobility Programmes is one of the goals set by the Management of our school every year. The implementation of such projects is giving them, a great opportunity to develop their personality, self-esteem, competence and skills. The administration of our school, having in mind the need for further personal and professional development of the teachers and students of the school, decided that 2 teachers and 17 student should take advantage of the benefits that Erasmus+ Program offers. The participants of this project were 3rd year students attending the Hairdressing course in our school. The students of the Hairdressing department during their 3rd year of studies at our school, must undergo practical work training in hairdressing establishments for 180 hours, a pre-requisite for obtaining their school leaving certificate. The participating students of this project completed 60 hours practical work training abroad with the Erasmus+ Program and the remaining 120 hours of practical work training were attained at home. All technical subject teachers of our school have work experience within their fields. Especially, the teachers of the Hairdressing Department work closely with the industry since during the compulsory work training program (180 hours training period), the teachers are inspecting and evaluating the students. In the past the teachers and the students of the Hairdressing Department of our school have participated in similar projects (placements abroad) and the results were very beneficial, enjoyable and gained a lot out of them. This mobility project consisted of one main activity: 17 students and 2 accompanying teachers from the Hairdressing department have attended a two week work/training period in the hairdressing saloons of Stredni Odborna Skola Obchodu a Sluzeb, Olomouc. They have learned the modern European style in hairdressing including all hairdressing services e.g. cutting, styling, perming and coloring. Retailing has been promoted on an on going basis. Our Institution, B' Technical School Nicosia, has carried out the management of the project and worked closely with our host, Stredni Odborna Skola Obchodu a Sluzeb Olomouc, in order to set up the learning agreements, concerning the procedures that both partners will follow and set up the standards for meeting the desired learning outcomes of the project. Furthermore in cooperation with our host organization we set up the measures of evaluation upon the completion of the project, for all the partners taking part in this Mobility Programme. As it is previously mentioned, one of the main objectives of this project for our school, was to establish a solid cooperation with a European Institution in the field of VET. This objective have been achieved by this project, since it is the third time we organize met ing the objectives of this project an important result would be the improvement of qualification of teaching personnel as well as the establishment of processes regarding validation of experience gained during learning (for students) and teaching (for educators) periods in another country. Students by improving their language skills will improve their learning performance; upgrading students’ awareness of the European Union values and European Mobility projects will eventually upgrade the students' intercultural awareness and finally increase their self-esteem and employability.
