FIRST STEP CONTACT MAKING EVENT IN KOTKA FINLAND

Context/Backgound Objectives The participating organisations and their workers will receive a broader wiev on mental healt work with young people in other European countries. The project also aims to be a starting point for a long term cooperation between the participating organisations. Number and Profile of Participants The project covers four organisations: one from Finland, one from Germany and two from Spain. All participating organisations have knowledge about work with young people recovering from mental disorder. Activities The First Step - project starts with a preparation stage after the approval of the project application, when all the participating organisations prepare a presentation of their organisation and their operation. All participants also make draft plans for a possible further cooperation starting after the First Step Event in Kotka Finland. The participants meet for a contact meeting in Kotka Finland in September or October 2015. The aims of this meting are: - introduction to the mental health work with young people in the Kymenlaakso region in Finland - presentation of the participating organisations and their operation with young people recovering from mental disorder - planning of further cooperation (e.g. starting a strategic partnership) After the contact meeting the participants evaluate the organisation and the outcomes of the meeting. The most essential outcome will be the start of further long term cooperation and planning of an Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership Project. Methodology The participating organisations are experienced in European cooperation. The implementation of the project is carried out according best practices and methodology used in European project work. Results and Impact The First Step project will result in a strategic partnership alliance between organisations from Finland, Germany and Spain. This partnership will benefit the qualitative further development of the operation and activities of the parner organisations with young people recovering from mental disorder. Long Term Benefits The long term beneficiaries for the First Step -project will be young people recovering from mental health disorder . The envisaged Erasmus + Strategic Patnership project following this First Step project would include also mobility actions for this specific disadvantaged target group.
