'Finding N.E.M.O_Natural & EnvironMental Orientation' is an Erasmus +, Key Action 1, Youth Exchange, which will be coordinated by organization 'Youth Horizons' on 11-18 November 2016 in Megara, Greece and will bring together 8 group leaders and 32 participants (young people aged 18-30) from 8 European countries: Greece, Lithuania, Italy, Poland, Spain, Croatia, Turkey, Germany. The participants will be young people who live in cities, experience daily the fast-paced life and are deprived of the benefits of nature. Therefore, they have standardized the quality of their food resorting to easy nutritional solutions (junk food) while exposing themselves to the long-hour use of internet. With main core the 'healthy mind in healthy body', participants will have the opportunity to live for 8 days close to nature, to recognize and identify their need for well-being and learn how to follow a healthy life style through the experiential process of 'Outdoor Education'. Young people with their active participation in actions surrounded by the benefits of natural environment (participation in olive harvest, travelogue in the megarian olive-grove, study-visit in local oil-press, poultry-farms, orchards, 'Agricultural University of Athens', National Garden, fishing, horse riding, hiking) will be able to awaken both body and spirit, and to cooperate in co-creation workshops with the guidance of nutritionists, psychologists, trainers and field's insiders (healthy-cooking workshop, 'how do I choose right food, eating habits of each country, importance of healthy foo, impact on psychology, environmental protection etc.). The followed methodology will be based on the principles of Non formal/ Informal Education and its tools (such as 'Outdoor Education', learning to participate, peer learning, intercultural dialogue, study-visits, role-playing, working groups, ice-breakers, energizers, name games, etc.) The objectives of 'Finding N.E.M.O' are directly linked to the objectives and priorities of EU and are identified below:- Encouraging young people to learn how to search and turn into advantage the beneficial offers of nature.- Understanding of the importance to follow a healthy lifestyle in: 1) personal (spiritual euphoria, physical well-being, creativity, decision making etc.), 2) interpersonal level (social integration, cooperativeness, team spirit, respect of diversity , environmental awareness, recycling etc.)- Contribute to the recognition of 'Non formal/ Informal Education' through the use of its tools (such as 'learning to participate', peer learning, intercultural dialogue etc.), Sharing of good practices.- Promotion of 'Outdoor Education' as an exclusive tool of Non formal Education, Encouragment of active participation in outdoor activities that awaken body and spirit.- Development and strengthening of the sense to feel 'European citizen' and owing 'European identity', Improvement of lingual skills through multicultural coexistence.- Promotion of 'Erasmus+' to participants who in the sequel by acting as multipliers, will promote its benefits to the local communities.- Development of an international network with proactive youth, willing to contribute and encourage more young people to participate actively and take initiatives in local, regional and national level. The coexistence in a multicultural group and the exchange of ideas, experiences and objectives consist a fundamental basis for the development of team-spirit, solidarity, respect of diversity and further necessary values for human interpersonal relationships. The participants' contact with each other and with local community, in addition with the encouragement for active participation into the actions, will contribute to the development of contribution to social commons. With starting point the small 'community' of Finding N.E.M.O, and by being aware and motivated, participants will infuse the gained knowledge into the actions and initiatives of their local and national organizations. Acting as multipliers will motivate more young people to participate actively and take beneficial initiatives for their societies. In this way organizations, enriched with citizens with enhanced European awareness, will contribute to the transmutation of their societies into societies of European identity and consciousness. Thus can be achieved the development of a united, supportive and aware 'cooperation network', able to spread widely the European idea.
