Film meets Fashion For Europe
Date du début: 15 oct. 2015, Date de fin: 14 oct. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

In the Public Institute of Vocational Training of Chaidari (IEK Chaidariou), considering our broad experience in vocational training and formation, we firmly believe that Mobility and Lifelong Learning abroad constitute important assets for our students and the tutors, with short or long-term benefits, for them and our organization. In this present proposal we have selected students from two of the modules provided by our school, being the Art of Direction and Fashion Technology & Shoe designer Expert. In the modern civilization, arts and design play a significant role. Direction and Costume Making are two areas that have a present and a future. The module of Direction can be applied not only in motion picture but also in TV, new technologies and advertising. The specialty of Costume Making is another module that can be implemented within a ample range of professions from commerce to theater, TV and cinematography. We reckon that the participation of our students from the above areas of expertise in one of the European programs will give them an essential aid for their future career. There will be a total of 32 participants, 30 students and 2 tutors-escorts, which have been split into two 14-day flows; more specifically, in the first flow there will be a group of 15 students plus a tutor and in the second again 15 students plus a tutor. During the program, the students will be practicing daily in working environments that relate to the fields of direction and costume making respectively, will be attending seminars and workshops along with students of the hosting country, where they will be displaying the approaches they learn on their field of studies. Additionally, there will be a number of cultural activities like museum visits, sightseeing and tours around the city and its outskirts. The participants are students with different experiences, knowledge and socio-economic backgrounds. Their involvement in the program will be a valuable source of knowledge and experiences since they will be introduced to a new way of methodology and skills so as to enhance their resume. All the above comprise necessary tools for our students who will be able to utilize them further in their professional development. For the best possible coordination of the program, our organization will be constantly in touch (phone, e-mail, skype) with the hosting partner before its start, during and after its termination. There will be a particular emphasis on the preparation of our students so that they will be 100% ready on all levels throughout their participation in the program. Upon completion of the program, the IEK of Chaidari will stage a series of activities in order to post the outcome of the program in and out of school. To be more concrete, our students will acknowledge the multiple advantages of the participation in an educational program abroad via meetings and workshops inside the school. Moreover, students from the sector of Direction will hold shows to promote their short film both inside the IEK as well as in various public or private projection rooms. Likewise, there will be a fashion show where the students will exhibit the project they will be undertaking in the course of the exchange program. On top of that, press releases will be sent to local and national newspapers for the publication of the program’s results. Finally, the program’s results could also be included in publications of the European Union. To sum up, we regard that participation of young people in the program will engender great credits for themselves not exclusively in the deepening of their knowledge on their area of expertise but also in a wider cultural level for it will contribute in the comprehension of the seamless European culture/identity and the multicultural dimension of a primarily visual culture like the one we live in. Our vision is to commit to the financial growth but mainly to the creation of active citizens infused with the democratic principles of the European Union.
