Film: “ECOLOGICAL AND SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF THE SHELLFISH HARVESTING ON FOOT”

a) BACKGROUND:The shellfishing activity is very important for social, cultural and economic reasons, but usually occur in important biological and environmental areas (nursery functions, important areas for birds, etc.). Most of the shellfishing areas are in protected areas. Furthermore, there is high need of implement environmental management plans for this activity. The countries participants (Portugal, Spain, Italy and Turkey) have been selected because that's where shellfishing activity is concentrated in Europe. The partnership is conformed by entities with different roles (Foundation (FUNDAMAR) and Cooperative (MARE) of the sector, an environmental NGO (LPN), a large enterprise expert in environmental issues, videos development and coordination of Projects (SGS), University specialist in the sector (RTEU))These entities have studied the enviornmental knowdlege in the activity in their countries and agreed that is necessary to develop a training contents specific for the sector to teach to operate with a sustainable conditions. And it will be beneficial if the trainings will be related to low level educated fishermen sensitizing Spain has a training contents in environmental matter ("XESTIÓN ECOLÓXICA E SUSTENTABILIDADE ECONÓMICA DA ACTIVIDADE DO MARISQUEO A PÉ") for the sector developed under the funding of the Social European Fund (FSE) which is suitable as referent for this project b) OBJECTIVES:Achieving a balance between the environment, society and economy, it is considered essential to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. This sustainable development is achieved by balancing these three pillars. For this it will be necessary to develop a training material able to qualify professionals to develop their activities with a sustainable methodology. "EcoFilm_SHELLFISHING" will develop an “AUDIOVISUAL TRAINING TOOL” in order to promote a SHELLFISHING HARVESTING ON FOOT SUSTAINABLE WITH THE ENVIRONMENT through the provision, advice and training of the sector in the transverse skill about the “sustainable and ecological management of the activity”. c) TARGET: Staff, private companies, professional Associations, Cooperatives of the sector, trainers, Public and Private centers of training in environmental matter and Local/Regional/National and European Public Organisms in environmental, training and shellfishing scope, educational institution VET sector and specialists at Regional/National and European leveld) METHODOLOGY and ACTIVITIES:The methodology selected for its implementation is reference in the UNE-EN ISO 14001:2015 through an identification and evaluation of the environmental aspects occurred during the tasks in real and emergency conditions.On the one hand, with this first identification and evaluation task, partnership could develop a Standardized Procedure for the sector, which will propose and explain to the shellfishing companies and staff a METHODOLOGY and CRITERIA to identify and evaluate their specific aspect such periodically as if they have any change in their normally activity.On the other hand, partnership will develop the training contents for the environmental aspects identified in the first phase of the technical work, taking as reference the Spanish Training Contents (XESTIÓN ECOLÓXICA E SUSTENTABILIDADE ECONÓMICA DA ACTIVIDADE DO MARISQUEO A PÉ"). The material will be in an audiovisual support, for this, partnership will develop the training contents using the scripts required by the production company and later a production company will record and produce a audiovisual easy and effective. Partnership will test it and will improve their use and adequacy for the target.Also, during all project, partnership will manage, coordinate, evaluate and disseminate the project in order a adequate development.e) RESULTS:1- "PROCEDURE FOR THE IDENTIFICATION AND EVALUATION OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECTS ASSOCIATED WITH SHELLFISHING HARVESTING ON FOOT ACTIVITIES AND PREVENTION OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS” (likely to be published): this procedure will give support to the staff and companies of the sector to identify and evaluate their specific environmental aspects in order to manage them to avoid a bad practices which will conclude in environmental impacts over the environment. This procedure will establish the methodology and criteria most suitable for this sector in function of its particularities. It will be developed taking account the particularities of this sector and the UNE-EN ISO 14.001:2015.2- "EcoFilm: AUDIOVIDUAL AND EUROPEAN TRAINING TOOL FOR THE ECOLOGICAL AND SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF THE SHELLFISHING HARVESTING ON FOOT": to qualify the staff in a good environmental practices is necessary to have a training tool specifically developed for the sector. The support selected is the audiovisual format because is the most suitable for the environmental materia and training level of the target
