Filières professionnelles du BTP: Vers un parcours innovant
Date du début: 1 juin 2016, Date de fin: 31 mai 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

VOCATIONAL SECTION : BUILDING... TO AN INNOVATIVE PATHLocated 10,000 km from Europe, Reunion Island has a young population with around 60% of its youth from 18. to 25. years old who are unemployed and half of them have no qualification and around 15% are illiterate. If the specificity of our territory (a French department) is to be at the same time part of the Indian Ocean area and a European oversea representative, the remoteness and insularity represent handicaps to employment integration and international exchanges. The small size of the island and hence of the market because of its isolation is also an unfavourable factor.Facing this incredible challenge, four high schools of the south of the island, providing vocational training and education in the building sector, have created a common project of schools buildings rehabilitation focusing on sustainable development. We want to settle innovative and motivating activities to accompany students in their professional training, to fight against school drop-outs and scholastic failure and to encourage their move into the workforce. We also wish to boost teachers through collaborative and inter-disciplinary projects. The consortium “Building’ Rehabilitation and Sustainable Development in Reunion” aims at encouraging mobility in Europe and develop training actions for the teachers as for the students.A common linguistic training (Technical and Professional English) taught to teachers of different fields will strengthen the links between general and professional teachers. The collaborative works will amplify the coherence of professional training giving at the same time rich and wide opportunities to the students. Also, thanks to mobilities, the rising of language skills level will make communication and students’ supervision easier and it will impact on vocational education and training. Our internationalization strategy is to gain from other’s experiences and enrich exchanges with meetings with our European partners organized in network. Thanks to mobility, we want to improve our managerial skills (management, communication, network animation, actions’ promotion) in order to uplift our knowledge, comfort our internationalization and our outreach. Students will train for 4 weeks in European companies. We will develop both compulsory items as regards as the Educational Board testing as well as sustainable energy skills. We want to develop high-quality vocational provision training to motivate students during their curriculum, raising their ambition to encourage their entry into postsecondary studies and reinforce their employability. During job shadowing organized in companies welcoming our trainees as well as in vocational training institutions partners, our staff will have the opportunity to update their skills and be aware of innovations in the building sector (new techniques, ICT, development of digital approaches to learning and teaching). Thanks to the mobilities we are applying for; we want to stimulate a strong and dynamic modernization of teaching practices and international opening. Subsequently, a group of well-trained staff (European mobility) will have a multiplier effect on the 4 high schools to improve the students’ mentoring and give them the best conditions to benefit of a fulfilled curriculum in schools opened to the world.
