Fighting youth poverty of EU citizens in Dortmund & Plovdiv
Date du début: 1 août 2016, Date de fin: 31 oct. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

At the End of March 2016 8.138 people from EU2 countries were registered in Dortmund, 3,085 from Bulgaria, around 650 (21%) of them from Plovdiv. So many immigrants come from no other Bulgarian city. The turnover rate is high: many people go back to their city of origin, vice versa many "new" from Plovdiv come here. Many migrating to have experienced discrimination, are without adequate education and vocational training, and often not insurance. They come to Dortmund without knowledge about life in Germany, important documents are missing. In this case, it is difficult to support people. For this reason, 25 experts of youth work in Dortmund (Germany) meet professionals of social children's and youth work in Plovdiv during a five-day study tour in October 2016. The study aims the establishment of a transnational cooperation between the partner cities. The professionals will share experiences, how local and international children's and youth policy can be designed. The integration of young people, municipalities, NGOs, policy and responsible children and youth work should be in the focus. The quality of social work is expected to increase during the study visit. Moreover the new Erasmus+ with its opportunities will be presented and the chance to find new international partners and to initiate new projects in the non-formal learning will be checked. The interacting activities positively affect the situation of people in Dortmund as well as in Plovdiv.-both cities build a transnational network of governmental and NGO partners of both cities.-the knowledge and its transfer improve understanding and professionalism in working with marginalised people in Dortmund and in Plovdiv and the quality of social work in both cities-the precarious living conditions of young people and their families in Plovdiv as well as in Dortmund will be improved. This leads to a reduction of in emigration pressure.
