The core aim of this project is Enabling young Roma and pro-Roma activists to fight Antigypsyism by taking civic initiatives at local level and disseminating through online tools and social media. Its objectives are:To bring young Europeans together in a joint effort to fight AntigypsyismTo explore the concept of Antigypsyism, its manifestations and identify effective responsesTo increase the competences of 33 young Roma and non-Roma activists from 11 countries, To create initiatives and activities with young people on combating Antigypsyism, at local level. To able participants and their respective organisations and networks to use and disseminate the existing toolkit on combating AntigypsyismTo exchange of practices and networking among participants, as well transferring experiences to local contextTo identify further support measures and actions within the framework of the Erasmus plus program (& Roma Youth Action Plan) for combating Antigypsyism. To further develop key competencies of young Roma activistsTo Promote empowerment, participation and the active citizenship of young peopleTo establish a solid ground for future international cooperation. For this reason the project has two main components: 1) Learning through non-formal Education; 2) Practicing by taking concrete actions (youth event and local campaigns on April 8th – International Roma Day, and May 16th – Romani resistance day). The learning component consists in a seminar and a training course. The participants will learn on several examples of Roma inclusion also by directly visiting the organisations and key persons working on it. They will explore realities and ask their question to get the answers upon they can reflect and get inspired for future actions. Part of those examples will be the addressing of Antigypsyism at several instances. Afterwards we will organise a training course that will “demystify” Antigypsyism and also contribute to digital competences of the young activist in order to make better use of online tools and social media in addressing the topic. In order for the impact to be long standing, the young Roma activists drafted a plan that brings to local/grassroots level the previous experiences of YIA and other programs through local/national workshops(youth event), and also start local actions on Antigypsyism. These local actions will be in the shape of campaigns, affecting 11 main towns and having special events for April 8th and May 16th.As a result the young activist will be able to use international toolkits at grassroots context, as well will raise the awareness of their peers and local people on Antigypsyism, Roma Inclusion´, EU citizenship and awareness. Moreover the participants will make visible their actions & will share resource materials and results through Roma React website; romareact.org. This project is applied by Roma Active Albania, having two mobilities, one in Albania & one in FYROM, and CB activities in all the 11 partner country
