Feel the Beat of Tbilisi - City Beat

“Feel the beat of Tbilisi” is 8 days youth exchange which will involve 30 young beginner, semi-professional musicians and 6 "reporters" from 6 different countries: Denmark, Georgia, Lithuania, Estonia, Armenia and Czech Republic, performing their art during the Tbilisi Street music festival in June, 2016 in Tbilisi, Georgian capital.Street Music Day was first established in Vilnius, Lithuania, in 2007 and afterwards it was spread in different countries such as Belarus, Latvia, Estonia. In Georgia, Street Music Day was organized by the hosting organization Youth Association DRONI in May 19, 2012 for the first time. Afterwards it has been held as an annual festival in Tbilisi, during which local and foreign music bands and solo artists perform in the streets of the city. The project promotes the idea of the festival, and involves as many artists as possible, especially from foreign countries, but also it gives a chance to the local musicians to perform and to get inspired by the foreign artists. The main aim of the event is to foster mutual understanding, raise the awareness of cultural diversity between young people from 6 different countries through art and culture and achieve cultural dialogue between them through turning them in a process of planning, preparing and conducting the music festival "Tbilisi Street Music Day" in the capital city of Georgia, Tbilisi.The Youth Exchange supporting activity of the festival. Non-Formal education will be the main method used to create a fruitful and productive cooperation. Participants will have possibility to work together in the international groups, share their arts and music between each-other , have a group rehearsals during which they will improve their group working skills. Also they will get acquainted with the festival program, take active part in promoting it among the local community using tools like : flash mobs, social media. On the main event, Street Music Day, they will play their music in the streets in front of the local audience. The 6 reporters, one reporter from each country, will ensure the visibility of the activity. The photos, videos and reportages will be produced and published in a festival newsletter that we would like to establish as a regular way of sharing the festival experience throughout the various countries organizing Street Music Day.
