Favoriser les parcours ambitieux et l'insertion professionnelle des élèves en Bac Pro Gestion Administration du lycée Gustave Eiffel grâce à la mobilité européenne

Our project is called "Fostering ambitious courses and professional integration of the Eiffel VET school's students, in relation to the high school degree Administration Management, through European mobility". Its main objectives are to fight against school drop-outs and to offer students a better chance to find a good job, as these students belong, for the most part, to an underprivileged socio-professional group. We aim to fight against social inequalities in our educational pool; which is part of our school’s global project, among the main objectives of the Rectorate , and beyond that, in compliance with the European Commission's goal to raise the level of qualifications in Europe. Our school is located in a north Parisian suburb in the Val d'Oise department.The students concerned are between 16 and 20 years old at the time of the 5 weeks’ mobility, in the last year of the degree course, and they belong to the European Section. They are following a Tertiary sector’s Administration Management degree course which is multi-skilled. In fact, the administrative employee is able to complete several type of office activities, simple or complex, using general and specific software. They have to master the commercial part of the activity, making plans and schedules, drawing reports. They have to handle customers, furnishers and the relations to the country's administration authorities. They must also master human resources and so forth. (The course teaches a total of 55 skills for 4 domains of activities).Our school leans on a selection of the most motivated students who start the course with a basic level in English. Hence, we can prepare them during their first two years of high school, for the mobility and to pass the specific test called "European Mention" on their diploma (corresponding to a B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). The teaching sequences based on real company documents and the company internships undertaken during their first two years allow the students to acquire the necessary skills and maturity for the mobility. The final selection occurs at the end of their second year. At this moment, the project anticipates to send 10 students for the 2016 mobility and 8 for the 2017 one. The classes in non-linguistic subjects (maths and eco-management) allow the students to transpose their professional skills to English, the mobility language, but also to adapt those skills to the Anglo-Saxon business culture.The school has chosen the INI company as its intermediary partner, and takes care of the application to the Erasmus + program for grants, as well as the grant application to the Region for the scholarship holders. The school includes the mobility in its provisional budget and might use its own social funds to help the most underprivileged students. It may also ask for financial help from the partner-school, thus making the cost for the families as minimal as possible.During the mobility, the students are placed in companies in Dublin, of varied size and of different activities, schools, associations and so on. Dublin being a very touristic town, and companies linked to this sector are often used, and quite adapted to the skills referenced in the Administrative Management degree. The students undertake a 5 week mobility, with two teachers at the start of the trip and two teachers who come for the last week for the internship's certified evaluation, a very important moment with many exchanges between the teachers, the INI and the companies. After the mobility, the students will prepare their mandatory and specialized mobility tests for their graduation and participate in dissemination actions of the project, both inside and outside the school. Afterwards, some of them will come back to our school to talk about their studies or professional activities.The expected results of our projects are: greater motivation for the students in their training and encouragement to follow studies after high school; a better employability by having polyvalent skills and being fluent in English; the European internship being quite advantageous to have on the CV, which is particularly searched for by French companies. The mobility will give the students a better chance to obtain a good career and to be competitive in the work market. For our school, we expect better results in the graduation rates and more grade B passes, as well as a better reputation.In the long term, our project aims to increase the value of the Administrative Management degree, and will allow the school to become renown in our educational pool and Val d'Oise department, as being the school in which to be. Students will no longer ask to enter the school by chance, nor this degree, but after true reflection about their choice. The project will allow this small school (415 students) to participate in the elaboration of European citizenship and open the continent to our students for their job perspectives.
