As Inonu Secondary School, at our school we have a class for the students who have mild intellectual disability. Besides,in our some of classes we have mainstreaming students. With the class master,the subject of Art,Music,P.E,Religion,English and Technology Design can be taught at this class. These branch teachers have limited knowledge about mild intellectual disability students and the techniques and methods for these kind of students in order to teach more effectively. As the project team, we need to solve this problem in order to increase the quality and equality of our education. While we are solving this problem, we want to have intercultural and international experiences, improve our language skills, add international dimension to our public body and curriculum, improve our teaching profile, know about our differences and their speciality and interests to make them motive properly their lives and our public future.
In order to reach our goals, we will go to a training course in the Czech Republic which we have already had a deal called " Special Needs- Children" for 5 days. The training course includes 11 modules. These modules are about the theoretical knowledge about mild intellectual disabilities, communication and cooperation with parents and families, activities for special needs children, team work and collaboration in mixed ability classes, teaching multicultural classes, student-centered approaches, integration and inclusion, mainstreaming etc.
We are 7 participants and it will be selected from these branches of teachers by our Project Team. While selecting, we prefer willing and volunteer teachers and those who are unexperienced and experienced.
Before mobility, the participants will take English course and the language and culture about the country we will go. Besides, brochures and books about the country will be given to participants.
Due to questionnaires, we can determine the improving and changing before and after mobilty and will prepare the development plans.
The outputs and knowledge we have acquired after the training course, will be shared with coteries, colleagues, the school which have a class for special needs children in our city, parents and the whole world via internet.
The teachers who participate in mobility absolutely will take classes at our special needs class and we will start to make real our goals.
As a result of this project, our public body will have international and intercultural experiences and increase the quality and equality of our education. Because of this reason, the title of the project is chosen as " different but equal for generation".
