The project “Fancy fenced Europe - European society put to test” contains three project modules: - EU Training: 02.-05.05.2016- Preparation Meeting of the Summer Camp: 05.-07.05.2016- Summer Camp: 09.07. – 19.07.2016“Fancy fenced Europe” partners come from Germany, France, Ireland, Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina und Bulgaria. The project is a true European cooperation: Besides the young participants, also professionals will experience what it means to work together in a multinational team: The project brings together two target groups: o Young people aged between 16-20 yearso Youth workers/ trainers/ project managers/ volunteers working on European levelAt the Summercamp the 48 young participants will cooperate among each other in various workshops, e.g. Music, Circus, Theatre, Dance, Upcycling and Art. Here they will create creative results regarding the overall theme “Fancy fenced Europe – European society put to test”. The current wave of refugees coming to Europe recently caused the closing of inner-European boarders for the first time since they were opened up through the Schengen Agreement. And countries built up fences at their boarders to stop the immigrants. What does this mean for the future of the European idea? What might this cause within the national societies? What might it cause on political level, with a view on the right wing populist movements? And how can we try to build a better world where people don’t have to leave their home countries for life threatening journeys to countries far away? There will be an advanced planning visit taking place at Jugendakademie Walberberg in May, where the partners will discuss and fix various subjects related to the summer camp, eg: - Final content and structure of the workshops - Share of roles and tasks- Finances - Conflict management and risk prevention- Logistics and itinerary- Prevention of sexual abuse/ harassment The training course will gather 16 workshop leaders working in the field of international youth work from 6 European countries (France, Ireland, Germany, Poland and Bulgaria) at Jugendakademie in Walberberg (JAW), Germany from May 2nd till 5th 2016. The applicant and host of the training JAW is responsible for the project logistics and facilities. The project content was jointly developed by all partners involved during the final evaluation of the Summercamp 2015 and the following EU contact seminar which took place at the Jugendakademie 7.-11.09.2015. So, it’s also a cooperation of trainers. We did it this way in 2015 and the cooperation of trainers and thus the whole SummerCamp worked out really well. Methods of the non-formal work fields theatre and media literacy will be trained.
