Faiths of the World: youth work and inter-religious dialogue
Date du début: 1 mai 2015, Date de fin: 30 juin 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

‘Faiths of the World’ was an ASHA Centre Erasmus+ Key Action 1 training programme for youth workers and youth leaders. The project’s main focus is world religions – notably Hinduism and Islam, as well as inter-religious dialogue and its place in youth work. The project was a continuation of ASHA Centre’s successful Erasmus+ Interfaith Programme, launched in 2014, covering a number of world religions as well as inter-relations between them, in the context of ASHA’s principles of respect and dialogue. The project’s objectives were: - To provide a platform for intercultural and inter-religious dialogue for youth workers and youth leaders - To increase participants’ competences in address religion, inter-religious and intercultural dialogue with young people - To share ASHA Centre’s experience in interfaith dialogue - To promote inter-religious dialogue in Erasmus+ Youth The project involved a total of 96 participants (32 for each course) – youth workers and youth leaders from European civil society organisations and youth groups. In response to the needs analysis among partners, the project’s activities included three eight-day training courses: one focusing on Hinduism, one focusing on Islam and one focusing on all major world religions. Each course was based on non-formal learning methods delivered by ASHA Centre’s expert trainer team. We have also drawn on ASHA’s resources such as the Peace Grove (garden with symbols of all world religions) and ASHA Library. The project’s impact reached multiple levels, from individual (participants’ experience) through organisations (increased capacities to work with interfaith issues) to communities and European youth sector (more co-operation and quality work). The project’s activities were held at the ASHA Centre, Gloucestershire (UK) November 2015, February 206 and April 2016.
