Date du début: 1 sept. 2014, Date de fin: 1 sept. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project Facing Future with Health and Empowerment aims at creating new ways of teaching healthy life style and methods of learning that young people have found motivative for themselves (for example digital learning games). We would like to include wider scope of perspectives to healthy life style. Our project would focus on positive future including such things as compliting studies, seeing future as a chain of possibilities and seeing adulthood as bright and hopeful. Parametres that we will include to our project include for instance life expectancy, smoking rates, obesity rates and poor diet, alcohol consumption, drug use, teenage pregnancy, behavioral problems, mental illness and learning disabilities. The idea is to change negative into positive. Partners in this project are Vesala comprehensive school, Helsinki, Finland (coordinator), FZS profesora Otokara Chlupa PedF UK, Praha, Czech Republic, 1st Gymnasium of Cholargos, Athens, Greece and Media Lab of Aalto University, Espoo, Finland. We will be using internet based platform (Google or Windows 365 and Skype or similar) in order to communicate weekly. Our plan is to enable learning experience which includes cultural aspect, new teaching and learning methods, multilingual communication and digital age. We will have one meeting only for the teachers in Helsinki to start the project in September 2014. We will also hold pupils and teachers meeting in every country. Each comprehensive school delegation will have five students and three teachers. Aalto university's delegation is four students. After the workshops students of the Aalto University will make a digital game out of the materials that they have collected while they have observed the studying during the workshops and the circle of co-operation. The publishing of the intercultural learning game will be during the spring 2016. We are expecting to improve life changes for our students. This project would work directly with children and young people to address health and life style issues. The aim is to identify ways of improving their health by encouraging children and young people to consider how poor health impacts negatively on other areas of their lives. Teachers will gain new teaching methods and broaden perspectives in teaching. University students and staff will gain new information on learning games and also international experience.
