Fachspezifischer Trainingskurs für kaufmännische Auszubildende in Großbritannien
Date du début: 31 déc. 2014, Date de fin: 30 déc. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The main objective of our project was to support 24 commercial trainees in their second year of training (Bank clerks, industrial clerks, office clerks) in developing their professional, social and intercultural decision making and responsibility. This was seen as the basis to prepare them for their future roles in a globalized job market with transnational business contacts. That is the reason why our students attended a three weeks business course at the College of Business and Management in London. There they were supported by experienced teaching staff who helped them to acquire knowledge on various commercial aspects. They were also able to get an insight into the differences between the working environments of London on the one hand, and the more rural area they come from in Memmingen, Bavaria on the other. The students worked on the following topics: London – World City, Media in the UK, Britain in the EU, Business Correspondence, Telephoning, Marketing: Communication and Social Media, Career Development Opportunities, Modern British Economy and many more. The educational programme was completed by cultural, social and historic excursions, organized by the German teachers accompanying the group. The students were shown various parts of London where they got to know London as as a major economic and political centre in Europe with various multicultural influences. The students also attended tutorials which supported them in their work on their final presentations as well as in the preparation of their written project work. Next to these two exam segments, they had to sit a three hour written exam to evaluate their gained knowledge. The College of Business and Management confirms the successful course attendance by handing out a certificate, which is acknowledged by the British-German Chamber of Commerce. As soon as the participants finish their apprenticeship in Germany successfully, this certificate leads to the title "Kaufmann/-frau international (AHK). On top of that, the students are given the Europass to summon up their gained experiences. An outstanding succes for us was the fact that a lot of students started to be extremely interested in staying abroad and getting into contact with other cultures and working environments after they had returned home from their London course.
