TERMINÉ
The Erasmus+ project "Face-2-Face" is trying to respond to the contemporary challenges of the XXI century and provide European youth with new methods and techniques how to improve their verbal and non-verbal communication outside the sphere of social media and social networks. Theaforementioned problem is defined as lack of face-to-face and real-life communication between the young people as they become more dependent on communication via social networks. Our team has defined several objectives of the project, such as to raise awareness about the growing and negative impact of social media on the youth; to promote integrity and solidarity among the young population of Europe; to develop a special course of workshops and lectures for young expertsto promote and strengthen face-to-face communication rather than virtual one; on the European level, to share the experiences and expertise of the involved partners in order to promote broader European values of broader regions of Europe; to establish strong network of contacts of socially activeorganizations across the European Union in order to share experience and in the long-term perspective working together on solving emerging flaws of the digital age we are stepping in nowadays. The project invites 36 participants from 6 European Union (EU) countries, which represent different regions of the EU - Northern, Eastern, the Balkans, Central, Southern and Western. Representation of every region of the EU will ensure that the project has the broadest possible representation ofcultures and mentalities that will definitely contribute to understanding the cultural patterns of people's behavior across the EU. We invite three male and three female participants from each country to ensure gender equality and make the results of the project as less biased as possible. The projectinvites socially active youth with or without the creative background, which is motivated and interested in dealing with the matter of youth-related problems.General idea is to pass the basic knowledge about the situation in the field, as well as to teach the participants different techniques that would make them more open-minded, relaxed and confident in their ability to conduct real-life dialogs in comparison to intermediated dialogs through the socialmedia. The next stage is to share the knowledge the participants have with regard their own cultures and mentalities that would allow all the participants to look for the new ways how to provide the very best guidelines to motivate youth to engage in real-life situations rather than social-life activities. The result of such pooling and sharing of knowledge is a thorough built and verified methodology, which can be used to educate young people on the matters of their social lives. The very idea is by the end of the project to visit a school in Riga in order to share the knowledge, introduce the developedmethodology and see whether it can be applicable to real-life work with the youth. The project will be stressing the collaborative methods of work among the participants with the idea to allow the participants to work in mixed groups in order to stretch their knowledge and make them think about the best possible techniques how to avoid using social network. Furthermore, theparticipants themselves will be provided with various methodologies concerning art therapy, theatre and acting skills, body language classes, guide to verbal and non-verbal communication, gesture theory etc. in order to make them confident in what will they be lobbying within the project. The project's task will be reached if by the end of the project participants feel motivated and capable of giving up parts of their activity in social networks and concentrate on the real-life activities, as well as the face-to-face communication in cases where it is possible. Besides that, the project will besuccessful if also pupils of the actual schools will feel motivated to give up their time in social media, as well as to think critically on the content of it.Long-term and short-term impact is expected to be colossal as the participants will leave the project with a noteworthy knowledge and concrete methodology on how to work with the youth and plan their free time that would be independent from their social network accounts. The partners will beexpected to conduct similar workshops in their local schools as well as to the broader community of their NGOs. Another expected short-term impact is the increase in awareness about the aforementioned problem, which might interest parts of the society as all the information about the project and theresults of it will be published and promoted by the organizers and the partners.
