In Europe, each year over 2,500 teenagers participate in yearlong youth exchanges organised by YFU. Their experience abroad, integrating into a new family and school, making new friends and learning a new language, is a profound one where they are challenged to develop intercultural competences. Dedicated volunteers and youth workers shape this experience. The ‘F!rst’ training course will bring together 25 youth workers from 14 countries to develop leadership and entrepreneurship competences required both for personal and for organisational development in order to improve the intercultural experience of the exchange students. The training course, which comes as a directly identified need of the YFU organisations in Europe, will take place in Tallinn, Estonia, between the 7th and the 14th of October 2013.
