The association El Salero de Ideas wishes to make a difference through this exchange and propose an idea for change. Fighting racism and xenophobia relates to the mass immigration phenomenon of citizens moving from one country to another; this can be attributed to the actions of extremists, fanatics and terrorist, which have been documented to violate even the most basic human rights. Thus, our association appreciates the urgency of providing those involved in this project with necessary information, training and tools in order to tackle the issue from its base, understand the reasons behind this situation, analyse the problem’s origins and detect mismatches and points of conflict in our society.We intend to create a project within the exchange itself, called "The key to my house". This will be based on a guide of 6 examples of inclusion projects, which set groups of immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers in several different fields (employment, sports, education, culture, music and entrepreneurship).Extreme Realities will take place in Huelva, the capital of the province of Huelva, from 1-8 December 2016 with 45 participants from 6 different countries: Portugal, Romania, Bulgary, Greece, France and Spain.The exchange is targeted at participants of both genders, in the age range of 18-30 years old. They should preferably come from rural areas, have been immigrants themselves, be interested in improving citizen participation in achieving social inclusion of immigrant populations, be empathetic and supportive, able to work in a team and have adequate personal experience on the topic in order to be able to contribute to the group.The methodologies we use, in all activities of the project, are based on bidirectional education which can convey knowledge, values, habits and behaviours. Education is not only verbal, but it also involves all our actions, feelings and attitudes that are embodied in the set of skills, knowledge, attitudes and values one owns. Collectively this is known as non-formal education. In all activities carried out in the exchange, non-formal education plays a key role through tools such as group dynamics, talks, lectures, simulation games / workshops, cultural games and icebreakers, debate tables, exhibitions, meetings, cultural visits, cultural evenings organized by each of the participating countries, entertainment activities, proposals for future networking, etc. During the project, we will make a thorough introduction of the exchange and the topics that will be discussed. We will present and answer questions about the ERASMUS + program and its characteristics. We will also have a K3 action workshop, which seems to us as a very interesting way to channel project theme into future proposals. Lastly, we will hold exhibitions presenting the current reality of racism, with the help of expert partner entities such as SOS Racismo and members of staff of CETI (temporary reception centre for CEUTA immigrants).The project has a clear multiplier effect at all levels, which will be visible during participant selection. At that stage, participants are required to investigate the level of immigration in their communities, existing social policies, number of cases of racially motivated attacks, discrimination or xenophobia, stereotypes and labels etc. This activity requires the support and advice of the participant’s close environment. Thus, there will be contact with the local populations which will come to know the Erasmus + program and the specific assets of this exchange, such as, for example, the "World Cuisine" recipe book of gastronomic culture of the participating countries; a tool of disseminating culture and promoting inclusion. Finally, one of the objectives of the exchange is to establish strategies for changing the policies and actions regarding population inclusion, for which the multiplier effect and raising awareness will be necessary.Host as well as partner organizations, participants and communities of origin are direct beneficiaries of the results of the project: changing attitudes, existing labels, prejudices, erroneous educational concepts etc. Another outcome of the exchange will be presenting the project "The key to my house" to public and private entities for promoting the eradication of racism towards the phenomenon of global migration in all developed countries.
