The project connects Estonian and Russian origin organizations and interest groups that are involved with the narrow gauge railway history with the aim of advancing competitiveness and gross-border co-operation of the regions. In order to achieve these goals the partners (Türi Municipality and NPO Imperatorski Voksal) promote narrow gauge railway thematic tourism field, which covers developing joint tourism goods and services, commonly accepted strategy of tourism and creation of co-operation networks in the field. In the light of tourism the history of railway transportation has not been presented in a very attractive manner. Nevertheless the history holds out a lot of interest making it possible to take a look back to the shaping of cultural history, development of society and many events with historical importance. Direct aim of the project is to bring the subjects involving the railway transportation and its history closer to the public. For this purpose the preparations such as necessary work projects, plans and studies will be made to create a museum and exposition in Türi and St. Petersburg.The overall objective of the project is raising the competitiveness of the areas of partner institutions, general development of gross-border co-operation and sharing the resources between partners and finding extra resources. The specific objectives can be divided into two categories– mutual and individual. Mutual objectives: regions are in the international target markets well known and in home country valued travel destinations, Estonian and Russian tourism goods and services are with good-quality, versatile and full filling the mutual objectives of the partners, individual objectives: establishing narrow gauge railway museums – theme parks that would advance the development of regions, deal with the historical research of the railway and offer entertainment. The target group of the project consists primarily of the residents, students and tourists. Final beneficiaries are residents, local governments, tourism organizations, entrepreneurs of the partner regions. Co-operation in working out joint tourism strategy, services offers both of the partners a possibility to exchange experiences, learn from each other and compare the working process and results. Preserving the historical and cultural heritage is problematic area for both partner countries and finding a mutual solution gives the issue an international dimension, thereby bringing the subject more closer to the public. On the other hand the multiplicity of partners and opinions promises to reach more efficient solutions then working them out alone. Achievements: OutputsPrecoditions for creation of the Türi Railway Museum in Türi, Estonia established: concept of the museum, feasibility study, marketing strategy, technical documentation of preliminary design stage of the Museum elaborated; presentation equipment purchased; Comperehensive book of the history of railway „St.Peterburg to Tallinn by Train” written by Tiit Pruuli (famous Estonian writer) in English/Russian and printed in 1000 copies – distributed widely in *Estonia and Russia (museums, schools, libraries, tourism info points, to cooperation partners, railway experts and fans). Public opening on 2 July, 2013 with ~ 100 participants was organized; *Preconditions for creation of railway exposition in St.Petersburg, Russia established: concept, feasibility study, marketing strategy, exposition plan, research report on exposition sources and conceptual design of exposition area elaborated; *exhibits planned for the railway exposition in St.Petersburg identified; *2 study trips to railway museums in Estonia and in St.Petersburg organized in 2012 and 2013; *Seminar promoting the idea of cooperation in tourism between Estonia (Järva County) and Russia (St.Petersburg) entrepreneurs organized in Türi, Estonia on 7 August, 2012; *Joint tourism strategy elaborated by the Türi Rural Municipality and NGO "Imperatorskii vokzal" regarding planning internal and external, and mutual activities for Türi Railway Museum and exposition in St.Petersburg; *Project promoted at „TOUREST” on 12-17 February, 2013, Tallinn, Estonia and Programme Annual Event on 10-11 June, 2013, in Sigulda, Latvia, and EC Day seminar on the history of railway on 20 September, 2012; *Succesful corporate design and website of the project (in Est, Rus and Eng) created and will be transfered to future Türi Railway Museum - www.railwaymuseum.eeResults*Know-how (technics, preserving and promoting the history of railway) on compiling the railway museums engineering project and also with contacts on compiling the book of railway history transfered from Partner to Beneficiary; *Target groups (over 250 people) informed about project, book about railway history and joint tourism networks to develop new tourism products and services in Estonia and Russia; *1 contract signed between Türi Rural Municipality, Estonia Museumrailway and Edelaraudtee Infrastruktuuri AS and the NGO as legal body for future Türi Railway Museum established; New materials and small exhibits for the future Türi Railway Museum donated thanks to positive publicity of the book "St Petersburg to Tallinn by train"; *New tourism object - Türi Railway Museum expected to be opened on the basis of project outputs.
